ART AND CULTURE | THE VALBUENA RING OF PATHS

the Valbuena ring of paths

With just over 500 inhabitants, the village Valbuena de Duero, in the province of  Valladolid, is located in the “wine golden Triangle” since it contains within its municipal district some of the most famous wineries in the world. The scenery created by the vineyards and the wineries give an incomparable beauty to the surroundings of Valbuena. From the Valbuena ring of paths you can enjoy all these pleasures, get to know this area and live the real experience this zone offers you.

The Valbuena ring of paths goes towards the South, from the village to the district of San Bernardo, going through the Emina WIC and allowing visitors to maintain their enjoyment of the views of the Duero river. In this small, colonial village, we find one of the jewels of Cistercian architecture: The monastery of Santa Maria de Valbuena. As we get to Santa Marina, The Duero river shows us all its splendour. The landscape is, until that moment, “Ribera de Duero”, but from here on, and following the course of the river, we will see that Valbuena is also a pine grove land.

Going northwards, towards the hill, along the Santiago estate, we come across wide cereal plantations, giving a sober and elegant aspect.

At the top of the mountain, a slight deviation leads us to one of the most impressive places in the Valbuena ring of paths: the viewpoint. From this observation post, we can see how wide Castile is and contemplate the majesty of the castle of Peñafiel and the hundreds of vineyard hectares softly covering the Castilian lands.
