EMINA, much more than a wine
We would love you to come and meet us and know at first hand how we make all the Emina wines. We have prepared our installations so that you can follow minute by minute all the steps in the winemaking process from the grape up to the bottle. Come and meet us!
Art
For miles around, the Emina WIC makes the ideal starting point to get to know in depth the art that emanates from these lands.
Culture
The world of wine goes much further than just the wine making process, as it is a culture within itself. The origins of the wine in this area date back to the Vacceos. At the archaeological site in Pintia, close to the Emina centre, remains have been found, which confirm the origin of the wine. Atio is the first reference we have of the world of wine in this area. As early as the thirteen century, the Cistercian monks, who lived in this monastery of Santa María de Valbuena, introduced the grape variety, ‘tempranillo’. In the site of Pintia, very close to Emina, in recent years, numerous remains have been discovered related to the growing of vines. The Valbuena ring of paths
With just over 500 inhabitants, the village Valbuena de Duero, in the province of Valladolid, is located in the “wine golden Triangle” since it contains within its municipal district some of the most famous wineries in the world. The scenery created by the vineyards and the wineries give an incomparable beauty to the surroundings of Valbuena. From the Valbuena ring of paths you can enjoy all these pleasures, get to know this area and live the real experience this zone offers you.
The Valbuena ring of paths goes towards the South, from the village to the district of San Bernardo, going through the Emina WIC and allowing visitors to maintain their enjoyment of the views of the Duero river. In this small, colonial village, we find one of the jewels of Cistercian architecture: The monastery of Santa Maria de Valbuena. As we get to Santa Marina, The Duero river shows us all its splendour. The landscape is, until that moment, “Ribera de Duero”, but from here on, and following the course of the river, we will see that Valbuena is also a pine grove land.
Going northwards, towards the hill, along the Santiago estate, we come across wide cereal plantations, giving a sober and elegant aspect.
At the top of the mountain, a slight deviation leads us to one of the most impressive places in the Valbuena ring of paths: the viewpoint. From this observation post, we can see how wide Castile is and contemplate the majesty of the castle of Peñafiel and the hundreds of vineyard hectares softly covering the Castilian lands.

Integrated Sustainable Develpment Project
A project like this has to, apart from being integrated into the landscape, have a strong link with the environment. The Emina centre respects and works in favour of nature.
The Emina WIC has a strong link with the environment and respects the area where it is situated. It has a system which allows the maximum usage of the grape. We produce the wine from the grape. From the grape skin the liquor, and following this phase we are left with the compost, which then goes back to the soil as fertilizer, which concludes the life cycle of the grape.
